Vitis Coignetiae or more commonly known as Crimson Glory Vine is a lovely deciduous climber which has broad, oval shaped mid green leaves which turn a striking crimson colour in autumn with warm yellow hints throughout! The foliage is often the star of the show on this plant! In May and June the Vitis Coignetiae can produce small dark blue, almost black berries.
Suiting almost any garden or planting scheme and grows extremely well against a wall or trellis where it can climb easily. Known to be a quick grower meaning it will cover a space with stunning foliage promptly for you!
Vitis Coignetiae care
Plant the Vitis Coignetiae in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden which has moist well drained soils where it will thrive and perform best. We recommend planting with some support and assisting the plants growth to begin with to allow it to grow strongly vertically, tieing as it grows. In mid winter prune any over long stems back to healthy buds which will encourage a healthy strong growth in the following year.
