With small, ovate, glossy green leaves and producing from June to September these wonderfully fragrant clusters of tube like, pretty pink flowers makes for a fantastic show!

A perfect low maintenance shrub that is known to create a stunning hedge and screen when planted in groups, whilst also attracting insects and wildlife to the garden being a good pollinator. Ideally planted in beds or borders, low maintenance gardens and coastal gardens where it is known to be salt tolerant. It’s also worth planting in groups to create a thick, bushy hedge/screen.

Escallonia Macrantha care

Plant the Escallonia Macrantha in full sun, partial shade and moist, well drained soil where this shrub will thrive. Generally disease free and requires minimal pruning which makes it a perfect low maintenance shrub. To prolong flowering prune regularly and prune in late spring to remove any dead or damaged branches which will in turn encourage a healthy bushy shape. To propagate take semi-hardwood cuttings.
