Summary[edit]
| Description | Native, warm season, perennial, tufted, erect herb with woody rootstock. Leaves sometimes conduplicate, linear or elliptic to oblanceolate and 10–45 mm long; margins are entire or lobed in upper half. Heads are 5.5–7 mm long; Ray florets are female, 1–3-seriate and bluish purple; disc florets are tubular, bisexual and yellow. Achenes are narrow-oblanceolate and 4–5 mm long, with a pappus 7–8 mm long. Flowering is in spring and summer. Grows in grassland and woodland. |
