Perennial with branched rhizome set with black hairs. Fronds pinnatifid or 2-pinnatifid, stipe narrowly winged distally, lamina to 7 cm long, divided into rounded entire lobes. Sori conical, partly narrowly winged. On wet rocks in forest, 250--1000 m, LB, SE (George to Knysna and E and W Africa, Madagascar).
