Short etymology:
Probably for Louis Jean Marie Obet (1777–1856), naval surgeon, second chief physician of the navy in 1812. He was a professor of anatomy at the Saint Bernard Hospital and did much to improve the standards of nutrition and hygiene. He was elected to the Royal Academy of Medicine in 1822. He published Essai sur la Nutrition (1806). He was honoured with Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1821 and became an officer of the Legion d’Honneur in 1833.
