Short etymology:
Arabic or Aramaic kesatha = a tangled wisp of hair. This describes the masses of matted stems that cover the host parasitic plant known as ‘dodder laurel’ and by other names. This plant closely resembles in looks ‘dodder’ in the genus Cuscuta, but is not related to it (Florida Ethnobotany, Daniel F Austin).
