Description

Menzie's larkspur is the smaller of two native delphiniums grown at the Friends of Buford Park Native Plant Nursery. Flowers are an intense blue-violet with the upper petals, which are sometimes white, forming a pronounced hollow spur. In the garden this species will prefer a more open, well-drained exposure. All parts of the plant are toxic and may be fatal if eaten. Delphiniums also inhibit the growth of nearby plants, especially legumes. Deer and rabbit resistant.
