Scirpoides holoschoenus (L.) Soják / Homotypic Synonyms: Scirpus holoschoenus L., it is a perennial plant, with short, woody rhizome producing stolons, culms to >1 m long, 0,8-3,5 mm,  smooth, terete or trigonous, scabrous above, greyish-green; leaf sheath 3-15 cm long, from rather soft to rigid, greyish-brown or reddish-brown, scarious side conspicuously veined, blade canaliculate, greyish-green, margins scabrous, apex flat, obtuse, scabrous. inflorescence of 1-100 or more globose heads of congested spikelets, primary branches to >10 cm; secondary branches to 3 cm, heads 0,3-1,5 cm, of 6-40 tightly congested spikelets. these ± globose, 1,5-4×1-2 mm, with 10-30 glumes.  Life Form: G,   Flowering in: Jul-Sep,   Vern: Dees,   Phytochoria: ES+MED+IT, The native range of this species is Canary Islands, Europe to W. Himalaya, Chad, Cape Prov.    Notes: Wild in Libya/
