Medicago rigidula (L.) All., it is an annual or biennial plant 10-50 cm, prostrate, hairy or pubescent. Leaflets obovate, wedge-shaped, toothed, lacinated stipules. Yellow flowers, 1-2, rarely 3-6, on awned peduncles shorter or longer than the leaf, pedicels shorter than calyx tube, wings shorter than the hull. Pods pubescent or hairy, discoid-sub cylindrical or barrel-shaped, convex at both ends, with 4-6 tight whorls, with thick, rounded edges, equipped with spaced, spreading, conical, hooked spines. Seeds not arched.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-May,   Vern:————,   Phytochoria: MED, The native range of this species is Medit. to Central Asia.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
