Medicago monspeliaca (L.) Trautv. / Homotypic Synonyms: Trigonella monspeliaca L., it is an annual herb to 5-40 cm, lying or erect, pubescent. Leaflets oval in corner, toothed at the top, stipules toothed at base; yellow flowers, very small (4-5 mm), 4-12 in sessile lateral umbels. Calyx with equal teeth, longer than the tube, standard longer than the wings and the obtuse hull. Pods spread out star-shaped, 8-12 mm long, linear, arcuate, mucronate, with oblique veins, cylindrical. Seeds c. 1.5 mm. ovoid, brownish.   Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Mar-Jun,   Vern:—————,   Phytochoria: MED+IT, The native range of this species is Europe to Caucasus, Canary Islands to Pakistan.    Notes: Wild in Libya.
