Medicago minima (L.) Bartal., it is an annual herb 5-40 cm, spreading or erect, all whitish-pubescent,  hairy with simple or simple and glandular hairs. Stipules ovate or ovate, oblong, entire or sparingly minute-dentate. Leaflets hairy on both surfaces. Yellow flowers, small (3-4 mm), 1-5 on short, awned peduncles, barely matching the leaf, pedicels shorter than calyx tube, wings shorter than the hull, calyx-teeth unequal as long as tube. Pods almost globular, with 3-5 coils, hairy or glandular hairy. spines usually longer, inserted somewhat away from the margin, hence ± 3 keeled if viewed from side. Seeds oblong in kidney shape, 1.65-2.5 x 0.95-1.3 x 0.55–0.65 mm, reniform, compressed, with well-developed root lobe and marked hilar depression, somewhat shiny, smooth, delicately areolated below many magnifications, yellow in various shades. Pointed, sunken thread. Lens bulged, practically attached to the hilum.   Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: Feb-Apr,   Vern: Nefa,   Phytochoria: S.Cosm, The native range of this species is Temp. Eurasia to India, Macaronesia, N. & NE. Tropical Africa to SW. Arabian Peninsula.   Notes: Wild in Libya.
