Lotus subbiflorus Lag. / Heterotypic Synonyms: Lotus suaveolens Pers., it is an annual or perennating herb up to 50 cm long, usually villous or almost hirsute at least above, prostrate or ascending. Leaflets 5-20 x (1.) 4·9 mm, obovate-oblong to oblong-lanceolate. Flowering heads (1-) 2-4-flowered, peduncles exceeding the subtending leaf. Bracts 1.3, variable in size, unequal. Flowers yellow. Calyx teeth lessthan 3 times as long as tube, very densely pilose. Keel obtusely bent upwards from near the base into a long beak. Pods (4-) 6-15 x 1.5-2 mm.  Life Form: Th,   Flowering in: May-Oct,   Vern:————,   Phytochoria: ES+MED, The native range of this species is Macaronesia, S. Ireland to Medit.   Notes: Wild, rare in Libya.
