This member of the Pedaliaceae
family was given this name by Eileen Adelaide Bruce in 1953. It is found in
Angola and
Namibia, growing in
a well drained soil or grit with some water and lots of sun. It
will raise to eight meters with a stem with a diameter of up to 1,3
meters. The flowers are
yellow.
The genera name means 'Sesamun
bush' a member of the same family. The species is named after
Prof. Dr. Robert L. A. M. Gürke, 1854-1911, a German botanist. |
