Flower details of Bromus sterilis

An annual or biennial grass coming into flower now. Cope and Gray (2009) say that the best way to distinguish this species from B diandrus is the length of the glumes.

B sterilis = lower glume 9-13mm, upper glume 12.5-19.5mm.

B diandrus= lower glume 14-24mm, upper glume 20-32mm.
