Endangered Plants: Ulmus rubra

My plant is Ulmus rubra.  Other common names for this plant are Slippery Elm, Red Elm, Gray Elm, Soft Elm, Moose Elm, and Indian Elm.  The leaves are used for food and drugs.  The leaves can be dried into a powder and used to make tea.  The tree can grow up to 65 feet.  Lots of people cut the Slippery Elm tree down and use it for treating medical conditions, which is why it is endangered.
