Trigonella caelesyriaca

Trigonella caelesyriaca Boiss. (syn.: T. aleppica Boiss. et Hausskn.) (W-As.) – A rare and ephemeral alien. First recorded on a grain dump in Andrimont in 1954 and 1955, along with numerous other grain aliens from SW-Asia (see Lawalrée 1961, Van Ooststroom & Reichgelt 1961). In 1955 also recorded as a grain alien on waste land by a canal in Turnhout (as Trigonella monspeliaca L. and T. polyceratia L.), apparently along with T. arabica (see there). In 1970 collected on the banks of river Vesdre in Ensival (wool alien). In 1971 recorded again in Turnhout (canal bank). Finally, in recent years seen in 2008 on waste land in Liège, without obvious vector of introduction (possibly from birdseed?) and on the gravelly banks of river Maas in Boorsem in 2011.
