Parentucellia latifolia

Parentucellia latifolia (L.) Caruel (syn.: Bartsia latifolia (L.) Sibth. & Sm.) (Medit., SW-As., SW-Eur.) – A very rare alien. Discovered in 2016 in two camping sites at the Belgian coast (De Panne and Nieuwpoort). In these places Parentucellia latifolia was obviously introduced inadvertently by tourists, along with numerous other therophytes from southern Europe. In Nieuwpoort only a single individual was observed while in De Panne a small population of ca. 20-30 individuals seems to persist.
