Malope trifida

Malope trifida Cav. (syn.: M. grandiflora Dietr.) (SW-Eur., NW-Afr.) – A very rare and ephemeral alien, so far only recorded in a few, very scattered locations. Malope trifida is still cultivated in gardens but apparently rarely escapes. Adventitious records are associated with garden waste and birdseed. Recorded several times in a garden in Slins between 1989 and 2005 from discarded birdseed waste (Lambinon & Dieu 1990). Perhaps most recently seen in Blankenberge in 2014.
