The triangular, purple-blotched leaves on this annual are quite distinctive when they spread themselves out in late spring. Not too long afterwards, upright stalks carry bowl-shaped lavender flowers. The species shows up on weed lists, but we appreciate its abundance of flowers. Even though it grows in our cutting garden, we've not tried it as a cutflower. Perhaps this year we will.
