Common Name Pobeguin's Polystachya [French Original Collector of species 1800's-1900's]

Flower Size

Found in Siera Leone, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Cameroon, Gabon and the Gulf of Guinea Islands at elevations up to 900 meters as asmall sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or occasional lithophyte with narrowly cylindrical above and ovoid-globose basally stem enveloped by 3 to 4 papery sheaths and carrying absent at flowering, lanceolate, rather acute leaves that blooms in the late winter and early spring on an erect, terminal, rather stout, pubescent to 6" [15 cm] long, 3 to 14 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3 short sheaths and spreading, ovate, acute, glabrous, concave, finely denticulate margin floral bracts.
