Common Name or Meaning The Beautiful Leaf Malaxis - In China Mei Ye Shao Lan

Flower Size 1/4" [.6 cm]

Found in Assam India, eastern Himalayas, Sikkim, Bangladesh, Myanmar, northern Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Borneo in hill forests at elevations around 300 to 1100 meters as a small sized, hot to cool growing terrestrial with stout, short, erect pseudobulbs carrying 3 to 4, shortly petiolate, oblong-lanceolate, acute, bicolor leaves and blooms in the spring and summer on a 10" [25 cm] long, many flowered, densely cylyndrical inflorescence with narrow, linear-setaceous bracts and carrying successively opening, inverted [non-resupinate] flowers.
