Common Name The Orchid Gymnadenia - In China Xi Nan Shou Shen

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in Pakistan, western Himalayas, China, eastern Himalayas and Nepal in forests, thickets, alpine meadows or grassy slopes at elevations of 2400 to 4400 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with irregularly, digitate-lobed in the lower half tuber giving rise to an elongate, glabrous, usually rather stout stem carrying 3 to 5, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, herbaceous, sheathing base leaves that blooms in the summer on a terminal, erect, racemose, densely many flowered inflorescence and carrying fragrant flowers.
