Dwarf montia as seen in vernally moist areas to the east of the Coyote Wall in the central Columbia River Gorge...........April 10, 2010. This species has a similarly small stature as Montia howellii and Montia fontana. Montia fontana has leaves that are more oblanceolate, or at least are broader while the leaves of Montia howellii would be more similar to those of Montia dichotoma. However, the inflorescence of Montia howellii is axillary while those of Montia dichotoma are terminal and raceomse as seen in these photos.
