Height 10-30cm. Leaves small and biternate, leaflets bifid and trifid. Flowers deep blue, 3-4cm wide and 2.5-3.5cm long, spur 2cm, slender and nearly straight. Pyrenees in pastures and rocky places at 1000-1600m. Closely related to A. alpina but smaller.
