Botanical Description

This should probably be classified as a subspecies of A. pyrenaica but is smaller with bicoloured flowers. Height 10-30cm, basal leaves biternate, leaflets rounded, lobed, 1-1.5cm long. Flowers 1.5-2cm long and 2-3cm wide, sepals blue, petals white, spurs short and slightly hooked. Picos de Europa and N. Spain. A good species in cultivation in sun or partial shade but not often seen.
