Botanical Description

Woody based perennial with many erect and ascending stems, up to 30cm high. Leaves grey-green, narrowly oblong, 1cm or more long. Flowers pink, 1-1.8cm across. Plants labelled A. pulchellum are usually smaller and more compact, but all grades in between it and A. grandiflorum are known. Turkey, Iraq, Iran, dry rocky slopes above 1000m. One of the best species for the rock garden.
